The world is going through challenging times and uncertainty right now in relation to the Covid- 19 Crisis.
Some of you may have your business and income taken away from you in an instant, lost your jobs, lost income and direction/ purpose in your life. You feel everything is in limbo right now. We all can relate to exactly how you feel.
There are very simple self care techniques you can apply right now to get you to a state of mind to make the next best decision for you and your family.
Minimise fear and anxiety, maximise control and positive actions which you can do right now.
Start with You
How are you? Are you okay? It's okay to feel fear, anxiety, uncertainty. These emotions are normal. Acknowledge them.
Self talk is very crucial at this point in time. Your internal dialogue is very important. Catch it when it starts to go into an amygdala attack. Negative talk. Be your best friend, don't be hard on yourself at this time. We are all in this together.
Simple things like take 5 - 10 minutes of Meditation. Have a Zen moment for you.
Breathe. Just having two or three deep breaths really makes a difference during the day. You will be surprise how just breathing resets your mind.
Play music that is calm or upbeat to change the state of energy in the home.

Start a brain dump journal about how you feel about things right now.
Start a gratitude list, what do you have right now that is meeting your basic needs, you still have a roof over your head, you have food to eat, this is not forever it may be for a couple of weeks or months (it will eventually end).
Take responsible for your emotions and energy levels, it affects the rest of your family members and children.
Self care is very important right now. Have a nice bath or create a corner in your home as a place of feeling safe and zen.
Keep Moving
Include your daily exercise into your daily routine at home.
Be creative. Make it a group activity online or at home.
Things that you are used to do doing, Im sure you can find alternate options online or do it at home.
You can dance to upbeat music. Just Dance!
Exercise, Dancing, Yoga, Strength conditioning exercises.
Just Moving creates endorphins rushing through your body and gives you happy hormones in your brain.
Make your Environment (Home) Comfortable and Safe Space for Everybody
Start creating an environment where it's comfortable for everybody including yourself.
Making space for everyone to have their own space and respect each other boundaries.
Declutter and organise your home and space.
Just making your bed in the morning, gives you a sense of purpose that you have achieved something during the day.
Keep Connected to your Family and Friends (via) technology
Continue to keep the support going with each other, through technology if you are self isolating yourself.
Social Distancing can be fun and creative, create a facebook live / zoom group to do activities together.
You can call Lifeline 13 11 14 for support to chat with someone if you are living alone.
Eat Well, Drink Water, Wash Your Hands
Have healthy home cooked meals with your family, get your children to help out in the kitchen.
Make food fun and interesting.
Being creative with the produce you have, try out new recipes online.
Heaps of videos on Youtube on how to create amazing and healthy dishes.
Turn off the TV and News
Enjoy positive, funny movies or documentaries.
Too much blaring of negative news of doom and gloom don't really help your environment at home feel safe.
We already know the situation.
Now what we can we do currently to care for our family, ourselves and our community.

Reinvent yourself.
How can you make an income or create a business in these times?
There are so many opportunities that can come out of this crisis.
Accept that the way you did things in the past may need to change. Set a planning time during these weeks to implement those creative ideas for your business.
If you are looking for work, a lot of your skills are transferrable. Re do your resumes/ CVs.
Learn a new skill, there are so many free online videos to learn about anything from creating a virtual business to providing online support to others. There are also other platforms you can learn new skills like Udemy.

Be kind and respectful to your frontline Doctors, Medical Professions, Pharmacists, Retailers, Shop Assistants.
Be kind to You, Your Family, Neighbours, Friends, Animals and Others.
